The reading group will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the William Gibson Room at Green College at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The William Gibson Room is located in Graham House, the large central hall of Green College. The dinner will take place at Banana Leaf Restaurant, 3005 West Broadway. (Please note: there is another Banana Leaf Location at 820 West Broadway – this is not the one we will be at. We will be meeting at the location near West Broadway and Balaclava.)
Transportation:
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) connects with all regional airports of the Pacific Northwest.
To get to UBC from YVR, you have several options:
-Taxi ($33).
-Canada Line subway ($5) transferring to the #25 bus going west to UBC at the King Edward Station. All on-campus accommodation are within walking distance of the bus loop.
-CarToGo or car rental.
-Please note: Uber does not operate in the City of Vancouver.
If you are driving, check any online map for directions to the Rose Garden at UBC. The parkade is located directly below the Rose Garden, with the entrance on North West Marine Drive. Green College is located across the street from the Rose Garden Parkade.
Parking on campus costs a daily maximum of $8, $11 if staying overnight. If you are driving, please include your license plate number and arrival time on the RSVP form, and Mary Chapman will be able to buy your parking pass in advance.
